My Bio
Mark Stone lives in the United States and Spain with his greatest inspiration, his wife Cinta – an author, editor, and Spanish-English translator.
Mark is the author of award-winning Flash Fiction and a novelist. While he spends most of his writing-time penning tales of Epic Fantasy and Sword & Sorcery, he sometimes ventures into other areas; namely, Horror and Western Horror. His Epic Fantasy and Sword & Sorcery tales are based in Calasade, a fantasy world heavily influenced by Ancient Rome and the Medieval period.
In his non-writing time, Mark designs artwork, covers, and websites for his publications along with being a graphic and designer and software engineer.

In this post, we’ll be looking at how to create nondestructive lighting with some burn (darkening) painted in. The burn tool is terrific for touching up lighting. We could apply the burn tool directly on our original, but that’s a destructive method which forever changes the original. On the other hand, if we use nondestructive techniques by applying our effects on separate layers, we don’t actually alter the original. In this tutorial we’ll be implementing nondestructive techniques using layers with layer masks and 50% gray and entirely black filled layers.
